Study Tour by faculty of Science and Engineering (FST)-2024

The faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Brahmanbaria organized a study tour at Lawachara National Park and Satgaon Tea Estate in Srimangal on March 6, 2024. In this tour, students and faculty members are intended to compromise an educational and immersive experience in biodiversity conservation and tea cultivation.

Under the guidance of park rangers, students engaged in guided nature hikes, wildlife observation, and bird watching. They looked into the park’s extensive animals. Following the visit to Lawachara, the caravan proceeded to “Satgaon Tea Estate in Srimangal,” which is renowned for its tea cultivation. Students got important insights into the process of producing tea.

Faculty members shared their perspectives on the social, cultural, and environmental elements of tea growing and its economic contribution to the country’s GDP and impact on the area. This visit to Satgaon Tea Estate and Lawachara National Park gave a lot of insights to students which would enhance their knowledge of agricultural techniques biodiversity conservation, and complexities of the tea farming industry, by combining experience-based learning with theoretical and practical information.
