Rashed, Lecturer, Department of CSE, on the publication of his latest research article in Frontiers in Medicine, an international journal indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE).<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udcda Research Highlight<\/p>\n<p>The article, titled \u201cBADF-Net: A Boundary-Aware Dynamic Fusion Network for Robust Multi-Anatomical Structure Segmentation in Abdominal Ultrasound,\u201d presents a novel deep learning framework designed to improve the automated segmentation of anatomical structures in abdominal ultrasound images.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed BADF-Net addresses major challenges in ultrasound imaging, including speckle noise, low contrast, and unclear anatomical boundaries. By integrating boundary-aware attention, boundary confidence estimation, and cross-scale feature fusion, the model aims to improve segmentation accuracy and the identification of difficult anatomical structures.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udd2c Key Research Achievements:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Achieved a Dice score of 81.74% and pixel accuracy of 97.03%.<br \/>\n&#8211; Outperformed 11 baseline methods in the reported experiments.<br \/>\n&#8211; Demonstrated improved segmentation of challenging, low-contrast kidney structures.<br \/>\n&#8211; Processed images in approximately 0.016 seconds, highlighting its potential for real-time clinical workflows.<\/p>\n<p>This research contributes to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Medical Image Analysis, with potential applications in clinical decision support and more consistent analysis of abdominal ultrasound images.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc4f The Department of CSE extends its heartfelt congratulations to Md.
