Mr. Md. Ashraful Alam has joined as a new faculty member of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Brahmanbaria, a founding faculty member of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Brahmanbaria.

Mr. Alam has nearly seven years of teaching experience in different universities such as Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology and Royal University of Dhaka (Guest Faculty) with excellence, dedication, and commitment. He was the Head of CSE and coordinator of the CSE Department several times to facilitate smooth academic and administrative operations.

He received his Master of Engineering in Computer Science (Ranked 46th globally and ranked 8th among mainland China) and Technology and BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (ranked 152nd globally in the U.S. News rankings) and International Islamic University Chittagong, respectively.

In the meantime, he has one journal paper (Applied Intelligence- impact factor of 5.086) and one IEEE conference paper; four papers are under review. His research interests mainly include digital image processing, computer vision, and applied machine learning. Notably, his master’s thesis title was “Robust Face Recognition in Partial Occlusion Condition with Few Training Samples,” and his undergraduate thesis was “Automated Defect Detection of Industrial Pipes Using Image Processing.” Alongside his personal research work, he is involved in a research group run by European University Bangladesh.

He is an active reviewer of the Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation.

Apart from his active academic and research activities, he has taken several training sessions for quality education and implementing the OBE curriculum effectively. His academic excellence in the field of Computer Science and other administrative tasks make him a valuable addition to the department.
