Md. Niaz Mahmud Sakib is an ELT specialist and among the very few English language professionals in Bangladesh who hold the Pearson PTE Credly Badge, the British Council certification in IELTS teaching, and the Imperial English UK–verified CEFR C2 certification, a qualification equivalent to IELTS Band 9.
An English language educator, researcher, author, translator, and academic leader, he brings more than 3,500 hours of professional language training experience. A graduate of the University of Dhaka, he earned both a B.A. in ESOL and an M.A. in TESOL, specializing in English language teaching, curriculum development, language assessment, and higher education.
He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brahmanbaria and as the Director of the UOB Language & Skills Development Institute, where he leads the development of internationally aligned English language programmes and works to strengthen partnerships with globally recognized language assessment organizations.
His professional experience encompasses teaching, curriculum design, assessment, teacher training, research, and international language education. Over the years, he has worked with organizations including Cambridge English (BD065), the British American Resource Center, CreativeIQ (Germany), and the Informatics Institute of Technology (UK–Sri Lanka). He was nominated by Cambridge English (BD065) as an Examiner, reflecting his expertise in language assessment, and has also contributed to English language assessment for the NTRCA.
Beyond teaching and assessment, Md. Niaz Mahmud Sakib has established himself as an accomplished author, translator, and researcher. His notable scholarly contributions include translating the internationally published volume Keeping Peace in a Turbulent World: Peacekeepers’ Reflections from the Field, released by Cambridge Scholars Publishing (United Kingdom). The publication was formally acknowledged and forwarded by the Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh, underscoring both its international recognition and national significance.
His literary and academic portfolio also includes the co-authored book Celebrate Your Creativity, translation work on In the Shadow of Justice, and several independently authored books, including 90 Dine Spanish Joggo, Lekhok Hote Chaile, Turk-Arab Kabbogatha Shomogro, the audiobook Juddho Damama, and the English publication Kiss: Flower; Bliss: War.
As an active researcher, his work focuses on English Language Teaching (ELT), artificial intelligence in education, language policy, language assessment, gender representation, and educational equity. Through his teaching, research, publications, and internationally recognized professional certifications, he continues to contribute to the advancement of English language education in Bangladesh while earning recognition in both national and international academic communities.
