Professor (Retd.) Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed is a distinguished geologist, academic, and university administrator with over 40 years of experience in teaching, research, and higher education leadership. He earned his Ph.D. in Mineralogy and Geochemistry from Jadavpur University, India, and served as Professor in the Department of Geology & Mining at the University of Rajshahi. He previously served as the Vice Chancellor of Jamalpur Science and Technology University (2018–2022) and currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Brahmanbaria. His research interests include mineralogy, geochemistry, groundwater, environmental chemistry, and Bangladesh’s mineral resources, with over 50 publications in national and international journals.
