The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Brahmanbaria, proudly congratulates Md. Rashed, Lecturer, Department of CSE, on the publication of his latest research article in Frontiers in Medicine, an international journal indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE).
đ Research Highlight
The article, titled âBADF-Net: A Boundary-Aware Dynamic Fusion Network for Robust Multi-Anatomical Structure Segmentation in Abdominal Ultrasound,â presents a novel deep learning framework designed to improve the automated segmentation of anatomical structures in abdominal ultrasound images.
The proposed BADF-Net addresses major challenges in ultrasound imaging, including speckle noise, low contrast, and unclear anatomical boundaries. By integrating boundary-aware attention, boundary confidence estimation, and cross-scale feature fusion, the model aims to improve segmentation accuracy and the identification of difficult anatomical structures.
đŦ Key Research Achievements:
– Achieved a Dice score of 81.74% and pixel accuracy of 97.03%.
– Outperformed 11 baseline methods in the reported experiments.
– Demonstrated improved segmentation of challenging, low-contrast kidney structures.
– Processed images in approximately 0.016 seconds, highlighting its potential for real-time clinical workflows.
This research contributes to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Medical Image Analysis, with potential applications in clinical decision support and more consistent analysis of abdominal ultrasound images.
