Birth Anniversary Celebration of Poets Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.

On June 4, 2024, University of Brahmanbaria and Brahmanbaria Government Women’s College jointly organized a discussion and cultural program at the premises of the University of Brahmanbaria to celebrate the birth anniversary of poets Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Presided over by Professor Dr Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, VC of University of Brahmanbarai, the program was attended by Prof A S M Shafikullah, Principal Brahmanbaria Govt Women’s College, as chief guest and Mr Md Mizanur Rahman, Vice Principal of Brahmanbaria Government Women’s College, as special guest. Mr Saiful Islam and Prof Manbordhon Pal spoke as keynote speakers. Faculty members and students of both institutions were present at the program, too.

While the first part of the program consisted of a discussion on the lives and work of the poets, the main attraction of the second part was a cultural program comprising musical soirees, staging of a drama, poetry recitals, dances, and other performances. Student artists and some faculty members from both institutions took part in the cultural segment of the program and enthralled the audience. Among those who participated in the cultural program were Fahima and Chondrima from Brahmanbaria Women’s College and selected students and faculty members of different departments at University of Brahmanbaria.

The audience was all praise of the program that was a befitting tribute to the memory and poetic legacy of these two luminaries of Bengali literature.
