The launch of the June 7, 1966, was a watershed moment in Bangladesh’s history, marking a significant shift in the country’s political direction.

Framed by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, this movement sought greater political autonomy for the Bengalis in erstwhile East Pakistan, aiming to put an end to political subjugation and economic exploitation. Considered a catalyst event in the annals of the country’s nationalistic politics, it sowed the seed of independent Bangladesh.

University of Brahmanbaria observed this epochal event by placing floral wreaths at the Bangabandhu mural at its premises. The honorable Vice Chancellor, in his brief speech, recalled the significance of the event, while others also spoke in commemoration of the day.  One-minute silence was observed, paying respect to those who laid down their lives at different times in history.  All faculty members, heads of department, the registrar, and staff members were also present at this event.
